The first game of the two-match T20I series between Ireland and India will be played on June 26 in Dublin. Just like the South Africa series, the Men In Blue will play with second-choice players. With the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant gone for the England tour, Rahul Tripathi and Sanju Samson have been added to the squad.
Tripathi has got his maiden national call-up, while Samson is making his comeback on the national side. Apart from this, the Indian squad is pretty much the same which played against the Proteas. Talking about the hosts, they have given maiden call-ups to Stephen Conor Olphert. On the other hand, they have dropped Shane Getkate and Simi Singh.
The team arrived in the European nation after 2018. At that time, they played a two-match T20I series and clean swept the opposition. The only difference is the kind of player played in both series. In 2018, several first choice players played in the series. This time around, those players are in England and are focusing on the upcoming Test match starting on July 1.
Talking about the playing XI, Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad are likely to open the innings. At number three, Rahul Tripathi might get an opportunity as he plays at the same position in the Indian T20 League. The middle order might consist of Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik. Bowlers are likely to revolve around Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Umran Malik, and Ravi Bishnoi.

Ireland vs India First T20I
Venue: The Village, Malahide, Dublin
Date & Time: 26 June 2022, 9 PM IST
Live Streaming: Sony Sports Network and Sony Live
The wicket at the venue is good for batting with India scoring more than 200 runs in 2018. Also, the small ground dimensions are helpful for the batter. The batter might have a go at the bowlers without fear of getting caught at boundary.
