In that series, the visitors had won the five-match T20I series by 5-0, but had lost the ODI and Test by 0-3 and 0-2 respectively. This time around, the series will be played from November 18 to 30. The series will be part of the grand summer for the Kiwis as they will host England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. In January, next year, the Blackcaps will play a series in India.

India's tour of New Zealand shall take place from November 18-30. The last time both teams played each other was in 2021. At that time, the Blackcaps played a three-match T20I series followed by a two-match Test series. The series was played after the 20-20 World Cup where the Kane Williamson-led side played the final.

Talking about the series this year, it will mark the start of both teams' preparations for the 2023 ODI World Cup. The showpiece event will be played in October and November next year. Teams have played very less number of ODI since the pandemic. Most of the ODIs are played under the World Cup Super League which is the qualification tournament to determine eight teams including India.

As India is hosting the event, they have automatically qualified. On the other hand, the two-time ODI World Cup finalists are in tenth place in the points table. However, they have played only six games and have won all of them. They would be looking for the top seven finish at the end of the league this year.
