An India-Pakistan series is a dream for every cricket fanatic. No other series can build up the atmosphere, the excitement, the passion as the India - Pakistan series and fans from both the countries know that. Unfortunately, the two nations don’t play bilateral series anymore. The last time these two teams met outside an ICC event was in 2012-13 when Pakistan toured India for a short 3 match ODI series. However, if reports are to be believed, the fans could soon see India and Pakistan taking on each other in a short T20I series.

A Pakistani newspaper ‘Jang’ reported that a bilateral series between India and Pakistan might go on the floors pretty soon. The report stated that the PCB have been asked to be ready to conduct an India-Pakistan series. The report further mentioned that the series could be played before the World T20 and will serve as a preparation for the mega event. The claims, however, were quashed by the Indian official. "No, we have no information on India playing a series with Pakistan," said the Indian official to IANS. Pakistan’s Geo Tv also rubbished the claims. They quoted PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani who declined any such happenings.

Considering the political tensions between the two countries, a bilateral series in the coming future looks highly unlikely. For the fans, they could well see India and Pakistan playing against each other in the World T20 scheduled in October-November. As for their preparations for the World T20, India are currently playing a T20I series against England and most of their players will also be part of the IPL. There are also reports of India hosting South Africa and New Zealand for a T20I series ahead of the World T20. For Pakistan, they are scheduld to tour South Africa in April.
