India to face Pakistan on October 24 in T20 World Cup 2021

The much-awaited T20 World Cup is set to commence on October 17, only two days after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The qualifying round will be played first with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh also part of it and then the Super 12 round will get underway. And it has been revealed now that the arch-rivals India and Pakistan will face each other on October 24.

The world will have it eyes on the high-octane clash as the two teams only face each other in the ICC events. They don’t lock horns in the bilateral series in the limited-overs since 2013 and Tests since 2007.

ANI confirmed the date of the match between India and Pakistan as the source close to developments said, “Yes, the arch-rivals will clash on October 24.” The whole schedule is expected to be out soon with a few matches likely to take place in the Oman as well.

Oman has also made it to the qualifying round and have been clubbed with Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Bangladesh. It is likely that all the matches of this group will be played in Oman. The other group comprises of teams like Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands and Sri Lanka. However, all the matches of the Super 12 round will be played in the UAE across three venues – Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

As far as the face-off between India and Pakistan is concerned, the Men in Blue lead 12-0 in World Cups. Pakistan have never managed to beat either in 50-over of 20-over World Cups. They will be looking forward to this clash as well expecting to create history while India will be keen on continuing their winning run.
