After nine continuous limited-overs games, India are back in whites. They are all set to face Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series, with the first Test scheduled to start on March 4. Thus, the hosts were recently seen during their training sessions.
Senior cricketers like Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin were seen practising alongside their teammates at the IS Bindra PCA International Stadium. It is to be noted that the upcoming game also happens to be Virat Kohli's 100th appearance in the longest format of the game. Thus, he would want his 100th Test to be one to remember.
In the meanwhile, senior pros including Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari, KS Bharat, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mayank Aggarwal all touched down in Chandigarh and sweated it out in the team's practice session. On the other hand, Ashwin is subject to fitness, and will only play the first Test if deemed fit.

"T20Is β Preps begin for the Tests ππ #TeamIndia | #INDvSL | @Paytm" read the caption of BCCI's Tweet. On their official Twitter handle, they posted several pictures of the Indian cricketers practising. However, on Saturday, PCA treasurer RP Singla confirmed that fans won't be allowed to watch the first Test against Sri Lanka from the iconic stadium in Mohali.

Thus, this hasn't gone down well with the fans as they wanted to witness Kohli's 100th Test live from the stands. Nevertheless, the second Test in Bangalore, which is set to start from March 12, shall see crowds in the stadium.
This red-ball series shall be Rohit Sharma's first assignment as India's Test captain. Besides, as he's now the all-format captain of the Asian side, this series shall test his captaincy skills in red-ball cricket. India have already made some big changes, as they have dropped Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane from the squad.
