Ishan Kishan on Saturday was struck on the head in the 2nd T20 between India and Sri Lanka. Lahiru Kumara bowled a bouncer which hit Kishan directly on the helmet. He looked a bit worried as the physician came out to check the opener. Kishan continued to bat but got out shortly after by the same bowler.

The 23-year-old is currently said to be hospitalized in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Along with him, Sri Lanka wicket-keeper Dinesh Chandimal was brought to the hospital after injuring his thumb while fielding during the match.

TOI reported Dr. Shubham as saying, “I have been attached to the Indian team and I got information that an Indian player, who sustained a head injury, has been brought here in the hospital. His CT scan was conducted and he has been under observation.

“A Sri Lankan player has also been admitted in the hospital, after receiving a thumb injury in the second T20. We are monitoring everything right now.”

If the latest reports are to be believed, Kishan is doing well and there is nothing to be concerned about. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan had a small partnership with Shreyas Iyer during the chase in the 2nd ODI. They got 35 runs on the board together before Lahiru Kumara got the better of the opener.

Iyer, along with Sanju Samson, then continued to attack the bowlers. The boundaries kept coming India’s way and they were in complete control of the match. Later on, Ravindra Jadeja also had a firey game. Jadeja scored an accelerated 45 runs in 18 balls. Iyer played a slightly more stable knock of 74 in 44 balls. These two helped India win the match by 7 wickets and 17 balls to spare. India leads the three-match T20 series 2-0 after two matches. The next game will be played on the 27th of February at the same venue.
