India and Sri Lanka are currently involved in the three match T20I series, the final game of which is being played in Dharamsala. The teams are set to play the first Test in Mohali from March 4. Meanwhile, in a shocking incident, the Police found two bullet shells dodged in the bus that will be used by Sri Lanka team during their journey from team hotel to IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. During a routine check on Saturday, police discovered two bullet shells in the baggage compartment of a private bus.
The shells were found when the police were doing the routine examination with metal detectors. The bus was parked inside the hotel complex that is under the jurisdiction of the IT Park Police Station. So far, no FIR has been launched. Only a DDR has been filed by the police.
According to police sources, the bus was just booked for a wedding celebration. Despite the restriction, celebratory gunfire is popular in Punjab at weddings. The police have questioned the driver and the owners of the bus, but no details of the celebratory fire have come up.
SHO of the IT Park Police Station Shadilal declined to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, the T20 series between India and Sri Lanka is underway. India won both of the first two matches in a one-sided contest. In this series, all Indian batters have done admirably. The bowlers have also produced some impressive spells. Sri Lankan players have not had the best series, but the second match was a good one for their batters.
The Test series will start on March 4th. The first match will be held at Mohali. This will be Virat Kohli’s 100th Test match and Rohit Sharma’s first as India’s Test captain. In Bangalore, the second and final match will be played.
