Twitter Reactions: Ajaz Patel takes 10 wickets in an inning, becomes third bowler to achieve the feat

New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel created history as he took all 10 wickets in an innings against India to enter an elite club. Ajaz's heroics helped New Zealand bundle out India for 325 in their first innings. Ajaz bowled a marathon spell of 47.5 overs and ended with figures of 119-10.

Patel thus became only the third bowler after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble to achieve the feat. He also registered the record of best bowling figures in a Test inning against India, surpassing Jack Noreiga, who took 9/95 in Port of Spain in 1971. He now holds the record of best figures by a visiting spinner in India. The record was previously held by Nathan Lyon, who had taken 8/50 in 2017.

Speaking about the Indian innings, none of the batters, barring Mayank Agarwal and Axar Patel could resist Ajaz Patel. Mayank Agarwal scored a magnificent 150, while Axar Patel made a crucial 52 to help India post a decent total. Earlier, Shubman Gill had made a crucial contribution of 44 runs to give India a solid start.
