India Cricket Team might have a new sponsor from the series against the West Indies. Byju who has been the sponsor of the team kit since the advent of COVID-19 won't be able to sponsor anymore. Apparently, the company has been facing losses in the last few months. Not to forget, a lot of tech companies that rose to fame and money during the pandemic, are now facing losses.

This is the reason why the edutech company, Byju's has pulled out of the sponsorship. Meanwhile, there was a doubt whether the deal with a well-known fantasy company will be done before West Indies vs India series. However, as reported by News18, the deal has been completed and the team will sport that fantasy company-laden kit in the ODI and T20I series.

Byju’s paid around Rs 287 Cr for the last tenure in 2018. The ed-tech company later extended the deal to 2023, paying around $55 million or Rs 450 Cr. Under the deal, Byju’s was paying Rs 5.5 crore for bilateral matches and Rs 1.7 Cr for a game under the Governing Body of Cricket. The for the drop in price is that in major tournaments, teams are not allowed to sport the sponsor’s logo on the front of the jersey.
