India made history by winning the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 for the first time, capping off a memorable campaign. Their victory brought an end to years of near misses and heartbreaks, as the team finally delivered on the big stage.
While the event included numerous spectacular performances and emerging talents, not everyone had a memorable experience. Some experienced players struggled to make an impact and failed to meet expectations.
Here's a look at the World Cup's Flop XI based on disappointing performances.
Here is the Flop XI of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 tournament:
Sri Lanka captain Chamara Athapaththu was primed to lead her team forward, but her bat couldn’t come to the party. She made only 168 runs in six games with one fifty as Sri Lanka crashed out in league stages. Opening with her will be Muneeba Ali of Pakistan, who managed only 65 runs in seven games, despite opening the batting.
Annerie Dercksen played six games for South Africa, scoring only 55 runs, while Sophia Dunkley disappointed a lot for England, scoring only 68 runs in eight games for them. Harleen Deol, despite making 169 runs in seven games at an average of 33.80, struggled to get rhythm with a strike rate of 75.11.
Diana Baig was decent with the ball, taking seven wickets, but managed only 32 runs in six games. Sinalo Jafta, the South African keeper, struggled with the bat, making just 92 runs in seven games with the best of 29 runs. India pacer Renuka Singh Thakur came into the World Cup in red-hot form but managed only three wickets in six games at an economy of 4.02 but didn’t give India the starts she should’ve given.
Lauren Bell, the prime pacer for England, struggled on Indian pitches, taking six wickets in seven games with an economy of 5.26. Radha Yadav of India was another disappointment with four wickets in three games she played.
Australia’s veteran Megan Schutt had a disappointing World Cup, with five wickets in six games and going for almost five runs per over.
