ICC announces T20 World Cup 2026 schedule; India to face Pakistan on February 15

The ICC released the T20 World Cup 2026 schedule (Feb 7 – Mar 8). Co-hosts India face Pakistan in Colombo on Feb 15. The 20-team event will be held across 8 venues in India and Sri Lanka, with the final slated for Ahmedabad (or Colombo, if Pakistan qualifies).

On Tuesday, November 25, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the 10th edition of the ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on Saturday, February 7, in India and Sri Lanka.

It’s important to note that a total of 40 group matches will be played between February 7-20, with the top two sides from each group then advancing to the Super Eights round of the competition, which is scheduled to start on Saturday, February 21.

Eventually, the top four sides after the Super Eights qualify for the knockout stages of the event, with semi-finals to be held in Kolkata or Colombo and Mumbai ahead of the title decider on March 8 in Ahmedabad or Colombo.

Group A: India, USA, Namibia, Netherlands, Pakistan

Group B: Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman

Group C: England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Italy, Nepal

Group D: South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada, UAE

The passion for cricket in this region is unmatched, and fans have been waiting eagerly for another global spectacle. The announcement of the fixtures brings us a step closer, and I have no doubt that the five venues in India and three in Sri Lanka will be alive with energy throughout the tournament.

“The T20 format continues to drive the sport’s global expansion and will be showcased at the LA Olympics in 2028. With that in mind, the 2026 edition will capture the imagination of millions. One can already picture the electric atmosphere at the Narendra Modi Stadium when the champions lift the trophy on 8 March.”
