The stage was set for team India on 18 February 2023 when they were in action on the second day of the Delhi Test. On day one, Australia got bundled out for 263 runs while India finished the day on a high with 21 runs on the board without losing any wickets. So, fans were hoping that the Men in Blue can get a good total if batters manage to score some big runs.

However, the home side failed to get a good start to day two as they lost four wickets in the first session. KL Rahul scored 17 runs while skipper Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs off 69 balls. Then, Cheteshwar Pujara disappointed his fans on his 100th Test. He managed a seven-ball duck. Then, Shreyas Iyer scored only four runs off 15 balls.

An important day three awaits both Australia and India

After that, in the second session, they lost further three wickets. Virat Kohli got out in a controversial way. He scored 44 runs off 84 balls, including four boundaries. The home side were struggling at one stage when they lost their seventh wicket on 139 runs. After that, Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin managed a solid partnership of 114 runs for the eighth wicket. Then, Ashwin got out for 37 runs while Axar Patel scored 74 runs off 115 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. Finally, they got bundled out for 262 runs and the visitors managed to gain a lead of one run.

For the Aussies, Nathan Lyon took five wickets while both Todd Murphy and debutant, Matthew Kuhnemann took two wickets each. Pat Cummins managed one wicket only. Then, Australia came out to bat in their second innings and finished day two after scoring 61 runs for one wicket. Ravindra Jadeja took the wicket of Usman Khawaja for six runs off 13 balls. Hence, the visitors will kick off the third day of the match with a lead of 62 runs. But, India will look to bounce back on day three.
