Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi met in Match 15 of the Pakistan Super League at Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore. Shaheen Afridi, the captain of the Qalandars, won the toss and chose to bat first. However, his team got off to a bad start when opener Mirza Tahir Baig was bowled out by Wahab Riaz in the second over after scoring only five runs.

His dismissal brought Abdullah Shafique to the crease, where he put on a batting clinic with Fakhar Zaman, ripping through the Zalmi bowling attack with a massive partnership of 120 runs off 69 balls. The partnership, however, came to an end when Riaz took his second wicket, dismissing Shafique for 75 off 41 balls.

Sam Billings came in at No. 4 and immediately got into the act, putting on an 88-run stand with Zaman off just 30 balls, as both unleashed their beast mode on Zalmi bowlers.  Zaman was dismissed by Rovman Powell on 96 off 45 balls, just four runs short of his century. In his innings, he hit three fours and ten sixes. The Qalandars posted a massive 241/3 in their 20 overs.

The franchise owners have now presented Fakhar Zaman with an iPhone 14 and a plot in recognition of his outstanding 96-run innings against Peshawar Zalmi. Fans have been brutally trolling the opener and the team owner for this.

Shaheen Afridi's 5-wicket haul seals the game
