He has been one of the best bowlers not just in India but in the world as well. He has always been a match-winner on his own and his presence was missed in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy where India struggled to put pressure apart from Bumrah.
He has been put up in Grade A in the central contract list of the payers by the BCCI which means he would be receiving a total amount of Rs 5 crores as salary for the year 2025. He would also be eligible for various match fees, according to the matches he plays this year.
For every T20 game, he would receive Rs 3 lakhs, Rs 6 lakhs for every One Day International, and Rs 15 lakhs for every Test match.
He was a part of Gujarat Titans for the past three years in the Indian Premier League where he has been nothing short of exceptional. He has been performing regularly and picking up wickets at most important junctures.
He picked up 20 wickets for the Titans in their inaugural season and was the leading wicket in IPL 2023 with as many as 28 wickets as he pushed his team to the runner-up position.
However, due to injuries he could not play in IPL 2024 and clearly the Gujarat team struggled without him. As a result, they released him for the auctions this year and was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a solid amount of Rs 10 crores for the year 2025, which is a tad low as the teams have in mind the risk his injury-prone body possess.
He would be earning a total of Rs 15 crores as salary from BCCI and his IPL team this year around. In addition, he would also be receiving match fees and various brand endorsements he attracts.
