MI bought him in the IPL 2015 auction for INR 10 lakhs, which continued until IPL 2017. He was then retained by MI from IPL 2018-2021 for INR 11 crores per season. Unfortunately, poor form with the bat and inability to bowl due to his back issue led to MI releasing him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
Ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, Hardik Pandya was drafted in by Gujarat Titans and was made captain with a salary of INR 15 crores. He won the IPL 2022 for the GT franchise and took them to the finals in IPL 2023. Before the IPL 2024 season, Hardik Pandya was traded in by MI in an all-cash trade deal for INR 15 crore.

Coming to the BCCI, Hardik Pandya is placed in Grade A of the central contracts. This is because, despite his all-rounder status, Pandya doesn’t play Test cricket anymore. His last Test came in 2018, and then after suffering his back injury, Pandya received INR 5 crores every year from BCCI in a Grade A contract.
He also gets INR 6 lakhs per ODI he has played and INR 3 lakhs for every T20I he plays. He also captained India in white-ball cricket in 2022-23 before missing another year due to an ankle injury. Hardik Pandya played a big role in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win and remains the captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise.
