Recently, Mohit Sharma was in the news for his new stint with Gujarat as a net bowler. The upcoming edition of the Indian T20 league shall see the pacer play this new role. However, he was once one of the best bowlers in the league.

While he made his Indian T20 league debut in 2013, he instantly managed to impress one and all. This led to him making his international debut in the same year. After which, he had a memorable season in 2014 as he won the Purple Cap. Sharma started to evolve as a pacer and was a regular feature in the Indian team. As a matter of fact, he has played two global tournaments for the Asian side.

During the ODI World Cup in 2015, he picked 13 wickets in eight games at an average of 24.15. While several people thought that he could only get better after this, things went downfall for him post the 2015 WC. He was mediocre during the 2015 edition of the Indian T20 League and his economy rate was on the higher side.

Poor performances against Bangladesh and South Africa ensured that Sharma never played a game for India after 2015. As far as his performance in the Indian T20 league is concerned, he has picked 92 wickets in 86 games at an average of 26.85. However, he went unsold during the mega auction in 2022.

Thus, Twitter reacted to the news of him being a net bowler for the Hardik Pandya-led side. Several fans sympathized with the pacer. At the same time, they were shocked at his downfall.
