Here's how Kolkata Knight Riders' qualification scenarios look like for IPL 2023 playoffs

The two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are still in the race of qualification for the playoffs in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. With 10 points in the 11 matches, the Nitish Rana-led side is currently standing in the 6th position in the points table, however, they have to win all of their remaining 3 matches in order to qualify.

KKR can reach 16 points from here but that won’t confirm their spot in the playoffs so they will have to work on the net run-rate. 2 of the 3 matches will be played on their home ground Eden Gardens in Kolkata which will surely be a great advantage for them. Meanwhile, they will be clashing against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 11 who are also having 10 points in 11 matches, however, they have a much better NRR (0.388) than KKR (-0.079).

Meanwhile, KKR's young sensation Rinku Singh who is consistently producing match-winning heroics for his team in the current season talked about his stint and hard work in a Mumbai-based academy. Rinku said that he practice harder for the death overs especially which helped him a lot to become a brand new finisher for KKR. Rinku also mentioned that trying something new or out-of-book shots will affect his batting so he just plays according to the situation while back his regular shots.

“My hard work at the academy is paying off. We had an off-season camp there and I've worked hard lot and improved a lot. I just play normal shots and practice harder for death overs as per my batting position at KKR Academy. I just try to keep it simple and play normal shots. I think if I try something extra it will affect my batting. It’s about just playing according to the merit of the ball and I just back my shots.” Rinku was quoted as saying by Zee News.
