They recently beat Rajasthan by 37 runs. Once again, it was Pandya who led from the front. The all-rounder scored an unbeaten 87 off just 52 balls. He is currently the second-highest run-scorer of the 2022 edition. Pandya's all-round performance on Sunday meant that he was named the player of the match as well.

However, it is to be noted that he couldn't complete his third over, and walked off the field. Fans were worried, and felt that he got injured once again. The Gujarat captain recently recovered from all his injuries. However, Pandya clearly stated that it was just cramps and it wasn't anything serious.

“A lot of hard work for me tonight. It was just cramps, nothing serious. I am not used to batting this long. It gives me a lot of time. I can calculate and take risks. In the last game it did not come off but today I made sure I did. I have been in this situation where I have taken the role of scoring 12-ball 30. It is difficult but now at four I can control the game,” said Hardik Pandya during the post-match presentation.

In the meanwhile, he also drew light on his captaincy stint with the franchise. He was seemingly happy with the added responsibilities. The aggressive all-rounder also stated that his motto was to keep everyone in his team happy. Besides, Pandya has been batting at four in this edition, and has taken more responsibility as a batter.

“Captaincy is fun and it allows me to take responsibility and be the flag-bearer. The group carries one another. My motto was I wanted everyone to be happy,” he added. Gujarat's next game is against Chennai on April 17.
