Team India are currently busy playing the second match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But, the Indian fans went crazy after a video of Chetan Sharma went viral all over the internet due to a sting operation by the Zee media hub. In that video, the chief selector of the Men in Blue was seen speaking about players, their fitness, and their relation with Board members.
Chetan Sharma said that the former board president, Sourav Ganguly had never liked Virat Kohli. However, he also confirmed that they did not do a favour to Rohit Sharma. The chief selector also said that the former India captain wanted to defame Sourav Ganguly. He also accused Kohli of speaking lies regarding his removal as the skipper.
Jay Shah was reportedly looking to take an action against Chetan Sharma
He said: “The truth is that that he (Ganguly) did tell him. 8-9 people were there, and Ganguly told him (not to give up captaincy). Virat was lying, but no one knows why… and that is his personal matter, but it became a huge controversy. It became a Board versus player clash.” Chetan Sharma also added that he has a great relationship with both Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma. He added that players often visit his house to discuss their future. “Players come to my home to talk about their future. Hardik Pandya was sleeping on my sofa that day and talking to me. Hardik Pandya is the future of India. He’s the most humble cricketer. He came to my house recently,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chetan Sharma dismissed any rift between the pillars of Indian Cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In fact, he said that it was the current India skipper only who supported Kohli fully during his poor run of forms. Hearing such statements from former India cricket, fans were stunned. But, now reports have come out that Chetan Sharma has resigned from the post while Jay Shah has already accepted his resignation.
