Team India are gearing up for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at the Oval, starting from 7-11 June 2023. Rohit Sharma and his men will look to win the final this time around after losing the last final in 2021 against New Zealand. However, the India skipper is coming off after a poor run of form with the bat in the recently concluded IPL.

He scored only 332 runs in 16 matches, including two fifties. So, fans are hoping to see him score big runs for the Men in Blue in this final. But, now, reports have come out that Rohit got struck in his left thumb while batting at the nets. He came out of the nets and Physio Kamalesh attended to him and applied a tape.

“I think England is pretty challenging conditions for the batters.” - Rohit Sharma

After a while, Rohit put on his gloves to go back into the nets but decided against it likely as a precautionary measure. Seeing that reports, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. Recently in an interaction with Harsha Bhogle on An Afternoon with Test Cricket Legends show, Rohit shared: “I think England is pretty challenging conditions for the batters. But as long as you're prepared to have a good grind you can have some success.”

He also opened up about the challenges a batter faces in England. He said: “As a batter, you know, one thing I realised batting last year, I think a year before that, it was that you're never in. The weather keeps changing a lot, so you've got to keep concentrating for longer periods of time. And that is the challenge of this format. You will get that intuition, when it is your time to take the bowlers on. And that is when you should be ready for it. And, more importantly, you need to be there. We know that this is probably one of the best batting wickets as well you get value for your shots you know the square boundaries are quite quick."
