The two South Asian cricketing giants, India and Pakistan have reached the semi-finals together from the Group 2 of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The shocking Sunday changed the entire scenario of the knockouts of the tournament just after the Netherlands surprisingly defeated South Africa by a margin of 13 runs to eliminate them from the eighth edition of the tournament.

In the timeline of the event of a triple-header packed Sunday, Pakistan, and Bangladesh locked horns in the second match where the men in green won by five wickets to seal their spot in the semis of the tournament. In the last match of the day, India outmuscled Zimbabwe by a massive margin of 71 runs to finish as the table toppers of Group A.

As India and Pakistan are together in the semi-finals after a long wait of 15 years since 2007 when the inaugural edition of the tournament was played. Subsequently, the fans from both sides of the border are hardly praying for a high-voltage final in the 20-20 World Cup.

Speaking of the itinerary of the semi-finals, New Zealand will take on Pakistan in the first seminal at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Whereas India will lock horns with England on the 10^th of November at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

The final of the eighth edition of the tournament will be played on the 13^th of November at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Notably, the reserve days are available for all the remaining three knockout matches of the tournament if rain plays a spoilsport in any way.

There is also an interesting fact that also continued in this edition of the 20-20 World Cup and that is a host has never won the title in the history of the 20-20 World Cup.
