'Half of my job was done even before I come to bowl' - Yuzvendra Chahal on playing alongside MS Dhoni

Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the most successful Indian spinners in the last five years. Over the years, he has wreaked havoc on the opposition several times. However, having said that, the last few months haven't really been great for him.

Not only was he dropped from India's squad for the 20-20 T20 WC 2021, but he looked below-average during the recently concluded three-match ODI series against South Africa as well. However, he was always at his lethal best whenever MS Dhoni was behind the stumps. His record in games that feature the former keeper-batter is phenomenal, to say the least.

Thus, Chahal recently went on to speak about the legend. He stated that half of his job was done whenever he played alongside Dhoni. While speaking on Drs with Ashwin, the leggie spoke about how the Chennai captain takes care of the field placements and guides him while bowling.

"I blindly trust Mahi Bhai. the biggest plus point is that, 50% of our job will be completed even before when I come to bowl. He gives all information like the pace of the ball, where to ball, which line, field placement and all," said Yuzvendra Chahal, while praising MS Dhoni.

It is to be noted that the pair of Kuldeep Yadav and him, who were nicknamed "Kulcha", were really successful wherever Dhoni was doing the glovework for India. However, in the recent past, neither of them have been as effective as they used to be. While Kuldeep has been in and out of the side, Chahal was able to pick just two wickets in the three ODIs against South Africa.

In the meanwhile, the 31-year-old will be in huge demand during the upcoming mega auction of the Indian T20 league. As he is one of the best Indian spinners, a lot of franchises would be interested in buying him. Thus, it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up fetching a big amount in the mega auction of 2022.
