On 13 March 2023, India managed to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Ahmedabad by a margin of 2-1. It was the fourth consecutive Test series victory for the Men in Blue over the Aussies. It was another series victory under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and they also managed to get into the final of the WTC.

Sri Lanka failed to win the first Test against the Kiwis. As a result, Rohit Sharma and his men will now take on Australia in the World Test Championship final. Despite failure from many batters, players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill managed to score big for their teams.

But, KL Rahul failed miserably in the series once again. Before the start of the series, many former cricketers claimed that he should not get a chance in playing XI as it shield give a better balance to team India. But, Rohit Sharma showed faith in him but he failed to repay it. In the first two matches, the former team India vice-captain scored just 38 runs in three innings. After that, he got dropped from the last two matches and the selectors removed him from vice-captaincy also. Now, a video has gone viral all over the internet from the post-match presentation ceremony in Ahmedabad. 

Rohit Sharma was seen handing the winning trophy and he went to other players for further celebration. KL Rahul was there and it seemed like he was eager to grab the trophy. But, the team India skipper ignored him in a cheeky way and gave that trophy to the veteran spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin. Eventually, Rohit handed the trophy to Srikar Bharat and Suryakumar Yadav, the two Trest debutants from the series. However, it was not a great series from the skipper with the bat as he scored just 242 runs in six innings, including one century. However, fans noticed that and shared their views on social media platforms.
