Mumbai was defeated by their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in their last game, where they were put to bat first. Mumbai’s batting did not click, and so they could only score 155. Chennai, in return, started aggressively with Gaikwad, but once he fell, they started to falter a little. Rachin, however, did not panic and took the team home, winning the game by 4 wickets.

From the west-northwest, winds of up to 10 km/h are predicted, with gusts as high as 24 km/h. No thunderstorm is anticipated, though, and there is almost no possibility of precipitation. It is predicted that there will be about 17% humidity, 0% cloud cover and 0.0 mm of precipitation. The temperature is expected to be as high as 41 degrees during the day and 24 degrees during the night, easing out a little during play.

The Ahmedabad pitch is expected to be dual-paced like the previous two games at the venue in IPL 2024. The pitch eases up in the second session, and the ball comes on the bat.
