The Gujarat Titans (GT) will likely feel as though they missed out on a fantastic IPL 2025 opportunity. They never possessed the biggest hitters or one of the strongest teams in the league, but they frequently appeared untouchable due to the effectiveness of their well-rounded bowling attack and their outstanding top-three.

They appeared to have run out of business-related ideas and allowed their shape to fizzle out a little too readily. They entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction with a purse of Rs 12.9 crore; it was their opportunity to put things right.

With players like captain Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Anuj Rawat, Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia, and Mohammed Siraj, GT managed to hold onto its core. Sundar was not given enough opportunities in their weak middle order, and Shahrukh Khan failed to persuade when it counted most.

The Gujarat Titans avoided overspending on elite players and only signed five players throughout the bidding process. Ashok Sharma, a fast bowler from Rajasthan who has shown promise in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, would be a welcome addition to the Titans. The teenage seamer from Rajasthan, who has frequently reached 150 kph in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, was a tactical purchase from them.

Despite having a quiet auction, the Titans were able to hire the seasoned Jason Holder, who also happens to be their top earner. Gujarat eventually won and paid a substantial Rs 7 crore, but Chennai Super Kings also showed interest in the player and made the initial offer. Tom Banton of England was the second most expensive player for GT, costing ₹2 crore. The last two players were Prithvi Raj Yarra, who was paid 30 lakhs, and Luke Wood, who was paid 75 lakhs.
