Talking about the same, Maxwell said that it’ll be great if he gets an opportunity to work with players like AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. Maxwell termed AB de Villiers as one of his idols.

"That'll be awesome. AB (is) one of my idols and one of the guys I've always tried to watch the way he goes about (things)," Maxwell was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

"It'll be awesome to work with him, and he's always been really helpful to me along the journey. Whenever I've caught up with him, he's been brilliant. So to be able to work with him first hand will be pretty cool."

Maxwell was in fine form against India in the limited over series and delivered some fine performances for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir believes that Maxwell will earn one of the highest bids in the auction. As many as 292 players, including the likes of Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, Sam Billings, Harbhajan Singh, Arjun Tendulkar etc will go under the hammer on February 18.
