The cricketing world is shocked by the news about the accusations of raping a minor by Nepal skipper Sandeep Lamichhane. The news is from Kathmandu. It has been learned in the media reports that a 17-year-old girl has filed a complaint against the 22-year-old. The police have started the investigation against Lamichhane in the same case.

ANI reported that the initial FIR was lodged against the Nepal international in the Gaushala Metropolitan Police Circle. He is accused of raping a minor twice in Kathmandu on 21st of the August.
“Nepal Police starts investigation over alleged rape complaint against Nepali national Cricket team Captain Sandeep Lamichhane, after a minor aged 17 lodged the case, stated Nepal Police in a statement,” reported ANI.

The reportedly victim said in her complaint that she used to be a fan of Lamichhane and they encountered each other first on the social networking platform Snapchat.
In the progress, they both exchanged their numbers and started chatting on WhatsApp and Snapchat as well. These conversations developed into a friendship. Later on, she also added in her complaint that the leg-spinner asked her first for a meeting.
Lamichhane is very popular in his country only at the young age of 22 years. Four years back in the year 2018, he became the Nepalese cricketer to appear in the Indian T20 League, when the Delhi-based franchise was in the tournament.
Besides Indian T20 League, he has also featured in some other franchise cricket Leagues. He is currently in action with the Trinidad & Tobago during the ongoing 2022 Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Everybody in the cricketing fraternity is shocked by this news, and it is affecting the Nepalese cricket community. All cricket fans still can’t believe the news of the national skipper being accused of such serious criminal allegations.
Amidst all this, few other fans have demanded a fair and fine investigation in the case. Some of them also predicted the possible future of Nepal.
