After India’s dominant six-wicket win against Pakistan in the Super Four clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 campaign in Dubai, the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir could be seen saying to his players to exchange handshakes with the umpires.
For the unversed, the no-handshakes continued after the Super Four clash between India and Pakistan. While Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya finished off the chase with seven balls to spare, the duo came out of the field without the customary post-match handshakes with the opposition players.
In an interesting turn of events, Gambhir could be seen requesting the Indian players to walk out and exchange handshakes with the umpires. Eventually, the Indian players and support staff walked out and greeted the umpires, only to leave the opposition players baffled.
Moreover, Gambhir also took to his Instagram handle to share a few stories of Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and the rest of the Indian players, and used one word to caption the stories, "Fearless."

Moving into the details of the Super Four clash, India won the toss and entrusted Pakistan to bat first. Ultimately, the opposition could post 171/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Sahibzada Farhan's 58-run knock. For India, Shivam Dube pocketed two important wickets to change the game’s complexion.
In the chase, Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) stitched a 105-run opening stand to turn the tables towards India quite comprehensively. Eventually, Tilak Varma (30*) sealed the deal in 18.5 overs with six wickets in hand.
Speaking about the head-to-head record, India and Pakistan have met 15 times in T20 internationals. While India has come out on top in 12 games, Pakistan has managed to win only three games.
