On 24 February 2023, Islamabad United took on Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. It was the 13th match of the competition that took place in Karachi. The Islamabad side were looking to strengthen their grip at the top. While Quetta Gladiators were looking for their second win of this edition.

Speaking of the toss, Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bat first. They put up a huge total of 220 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Colin Munro scored 38 runs off 22 balls, including one four and four sixes. Asif Ali scored 42 runs off 24 balls, including one four and four sixes. But, it was Azam Khan who lit the Karachi stadium with his brutal hitting. 

Another comfortable victory for Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United

Azam scored 97 runs off 42 balls, including nine fours and eight sixes. For the Quetta side, both Odean Smith and Mohammad Hasnain took two wickets each. Along with them, Naseem Shah and Aimal Khan took one wicket each. For the Quetta Gladiators, Jason Roy and Martin Guptill came out to open. But, both of them failed to score big as Roy departed for five runs and Guptill went for a golden duck. Mohammad Hafeez, skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Iftikhar Ahmed tried to put up a fight.

But, they lacked any support from other batters and thus, they got bundled out for 157 runs in 19.1 overs. Islamabad United won the match by 63 runs and Azam Khan won the player of the match award for his match-winning knock. For the Islamabad side, both Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan took two wickets each. While Hasan Ali and Fazalhaq Farroqi grabbed three wickets each. But, during Islamabad’s innings, a funny incident took place during the fourth over. Hasnain was bowling and Shadab Khan was batting. In one of the deliveries, Shadab Khan was seen pushing away Mohammad Hasnain and fans found the video funny as that went viral instantly.
