Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is under the scanner since their humiliating defeat against England in the second semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The three lions’ opening pair of skipper Jos Buttler and Alex Hales completely dismantled the Indian bowling attack and single-handedly chased down the target of 169 runs only in 16 overs.

Meanwhile, in a relieving and delightful piece of news for Indian cricket fans, a report by the Telegraph has learned that the Indian cricket Board is in talks with the former legendary World Champion Indian skipper MS Dhoni. The board reportedly wants Dhoni to be with the Indian team in either of the possible capacities.

Following this news, Indian cricket fans heaved a sigh of relief as they were missing MSD for his knack of guiding teams to win major international tournaments. The ardent Mahi lovers took to Twitter for expressing their joy after this news.

Here’s how fans reacted:

“There has been talking in the BCCI about including Mahendra Singh Dhoni in some capacity with the T20 side to bring in the expert skill for that fearless brand of cricket in ICC tournaments. Dhoni worked with the team during last year’s World Cup in the UAE but that was in an interim capacity,” reads the Telegraph report.

The same report from the Telegraph understands that the 41-year-old veteran is expected to bid adieu from the Indian T20 League following his appearance in the 2023 edition of the tournament.

“The former captain could be asked to work with a specialized set of players since managing three formats is proving to be too demanding for head coach Rahul Dravid,” the report added further.
