Full list of player of the tournament winner in Champions Trophy from 1998 to 2025

India defeated New Zealand in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, March 9. New Zealand elected to bat after winning the toss and posted a total of 251 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

India chased down the target of 252 runs in 49 overs with four wickets in hand. Rohit Sharma scored 76 runs off 83 deliveries and won the Player of the Match award. Rachin Ravindra, who dismissed Rohit in the 27th over of the match, went on to win the Player of the Tournament award.

Rachin made 263 runs in four innings at an average of 65.75 and a strike rate of 106.47. He scored two centuries in the tournament. The 25-year-old Kiwi all-rounder hit 29 fours and three sixes in the tournament. No other batter hit more boundaries than him. With the ball, he took three wickets at an average of 32.66.

Jacques Kallis won the Player of the Tournament award during the inaugural edition of the Champions Trophy. The tournament was called the KnockOut Trophy at that time. He was the only all-rounder to win the award till this edition of the tournament. Rachin became only the second all-rounder to win the Player of the Tournament award in the Champions Trophy. 

In 2006, Chris Gayle won the Player of the Tournament award for scoring 474 runs in eight innings. He was the first player to win the Player of the Tournament award from the side that lost the final. Again, Rachin has joined Gayle on this list.

Hasan Ali won the award in 2017 as he was the leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets to his name. He is the only bowler to win this award. No Player of the Tournament award was given during the 2000 and 2002 editions of the tournament.
