So finally, the World Cup year of 2023 has arrived for the ardent cricket lovers and followers of this great game throughout the diameter of the globe. Meanwhile, Indian cricket fans are also excited as the marquee tournament will take place in India later in the month of November this year.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricketers embraced the arrival of New Year 2023 in their own styles. Most of them were seen having time together with their families at beautiful scenic locations. Former Indian skipper and veteran Virat Kohli was in Dubai with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma alongside daughter Vamika.

Whereas, Virat’s predecessor and former legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni were also in Dubai with his family. Meanwhile, current Indian skipper and senior batter Rohit Sharma headed to the Maldives including his wife Ritika Sajdeh, and daughter.

Talented and star batting sensation Smriti Mandhana celebrated her New Year in the Pahalgam district of Jammu & Kashmir. Veteran Test batting prodigy Cheteshwar Pujara went on to upload some beautiful snaps of having fun in the snow at an unidentified location.

Apart from these, a few other former legendary cricketers including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Yuvraj Singh also extended the greeting of New Year to their fans.

Talking about the current action of Team India, they are set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series starting on Tuesday, the 3rd of January. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the team as regular skipper Rohit Sharma is still on rest due to an injury in his left thumb that he sustained during the ODI series against New Zealand.

Indian team is also scheduled to play the two ODI series of three matches each against Sri Lanka and New Zealand this month.
