20-20 World Cup 2022 is just a few days away and all participating teams have announced their squads for the tournament. Defending champions Australia will be hosting the eighth edition of the marquee event. Notably, the warm-up matches for the World Cup started ahead of the main round of the tournament.

Aaron Finch-led Aussies won the seventh edition of the 20-20 World Cup with a massive win in the final against New Zealand. There had been players who played for their but they may have been forgotten by the cricket fans at the time.

Having said that, here we’ll have a look at four players who were included in the squad of the 20-20 World Cup 2021 but couldn’t get a chance to feature for their teams.

The 23-year-old leggie was included in the Indian squad for the last year’s 20-20 World Cup. Although, he couldn’t make an international appearance since then. Subsequently, he is also missing out on the squad of this year’s upcoming 20-20 World Cup.

Chahar has played only six T20Is and only ODI in his international career and scalped a total of 10 international wickets respectively. Senior leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been included as a premier spinner in the Indian team for the World Cup 2022.

The Palmerston North-based leg spinner Todd Astle earned a call to the World Cup squad of New Zealand in last year’s 20-20 World Cup. The Kiwi team made it to the semi-finals of the tournament. But unfortunately, he didn’t get enough chances to play for the national side of New Zealand.

Speaking about his career, the 36-year-old has played five Tests, nine ODIs, and T20Is for New Zealand. In these matches, Astle has scalped 24 international wickets to his name.

Senior batter and champion Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was called by the selectors in the squad of the national side for the 20-20 World Cup 2021. Although, it was Mohammed Rizwan who was in a role behind the wickets for the entire tournament and Sarfaraz had to sit on the bench meanwhile.

Sarfaraz has delivered a lot with his bat in international cricket for Pakistan. The Karachi-based veteran has played 49 Tests, 117, and 61 T20Is for the men in green. Pakistan also won the title in the 2017 Champions Trophy under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The Aussie selectors happened to include a New South Wales all-rounder in the squad of the Australian team for the 20-20 World Cup 2021. Although, he couldn’t get to feature in enough international matches for the Australian team.

The 39-year-old has played 20 ODIs and 23 T20Is so far at the highest level of the game for Australia. Daniel Christian is not in the squad of Australia for this year’s upcoming 20-20 World Cup.
