However, former Pakistani pace sensation Mohammad Amir, renowned for his fierce bowling during his international career, has recently expressed his preference for the top bowler of the moment. Amir, who retired from international cricket in 2020, highlighted Kiwi left-arm pacer Trent Boult as his favourite in the current generation.

During the recently concluded Abu Dhabi T10 League, he had a notable on-field encounter with Boult. It’s worth noting that both of them were competing in the league. Sharing a picture of the meeting, Amir expressed, “With my favourite bowler of this era, the one and only Trent Boult.”

Amir's performance in the T10 League showcased his enduring skills. The former Pakistani pacer played eight matches, securing five wickets with an impressive economy rate of 7.75 in the T10 format. Notably, he bowled an exceptional over, claiming four wickets without conceding any runs—an unparalleled feat that marked the best spell in the recent season of the T10 League.

After bidding farewell to international cricket due to limited opportunities, Amir has embarked on a freelance cricketing career, participating in various leagues worldwide. While speculations circulated about the possibility of his return with the newly appointed management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and support staff, the 31-year-old pacer has firmly dismissed such rumours. Amir affirmed that he has no intentions of making a comeback from retirement, emphasising his commitment to his current path as a freelance cricketer playing across the global T20 circuit.
