Former Indian cricketer Munaf Patel is currently in big trouble following a legal battle with the Noida Development Authority. Actually, the 38-year-old ex-pacer owes the authority an amount of INR 52 Lakh. Subsequently, his two bank accounts have been seized. With said that here we’ll have a look at the reason for these legal activities against Patel.

An office of the Authority has disclosed these developments in the case of a former World Cup winner bowler. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) issued the recovery certificate.

Munaf Patel’s employer Niwas Promoters Private Limited, the employer of Munaf hired him as a director with them.  The company is accused of not returning the amount of the UP RERA. Subsequently, the UP RERA sent its recovery certificate to the Noida administration.

In the same line of events, Suhas LY, DM of Noida came up with another piece of information. He added that the action was initiated by the authority against the Gujarat-based former cricketer.

Later on, the revenue team of UP RERA went on to seize the bank accounts of the former cricketer as an action in the same.

Talking about cricket, he had played 13 Tests, 70 ODIs, and 3 T20Is at the highest level of the game for India. In these matches, he scalped 125 international wickets including 35 Test, 86 ODI, and 4 T20I wickets to his name.

Apart from that, Patel also played a crucial role in India's World Cup triumph of 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. After bowling in all eight innings of the eight matches he played during World Cup 2011, Munaf took a total of 11 wickets to his name with a brilliant performance at 4/48.

Notably, he is also known for his brilliant caught and bowled off Kevin Pietersen during the Group match against England that ended in a thrilling tie.
