Former England cricketer and commentator David Lloyd has predicted that England will win the five-match Test series 5-0 against India if the rain doesn’t spoil the proceedings. Notably, Team India will take on England in the second Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham, starting on Wednesday, July 2.

Interestingly, many former cricketers have already predicted England as strong favorites to win the five-match Test series with a handsome margin. Now, David Lloyd also joined the queue as India had a poor fielding strategy in the Leeds Test.

"I want to change mine (prediction) to 5-0. No, I'll stay with 4-0, because you never know with rain. They could not catch," Lloyd said on the Stick to Cricket podcast.

Though India had five centuries in the Leeds Test, they ended up on the losing side as they were pretty ordinary on the field, dropping as many as eight catches as England sealed the deal with a five-wicket win.

Furthermore, Lloyd also talked about the England opening batter Ben Duckett, who scored a match-winning 149-run knock in the second innings and a half-century in the first innings in the Leeds Test to win the player of the match award.

Lloyd asserted that Duckett is England’s answer to Virender Sehwag and straightaway comes into the World XI as an opener without an iota of doubt. Moreover, he also heaped praise on Duckett for his effortless reverse sweep.

“Ben Duckett has come a long way since he poured a drink over Jimmy Anderson on an Ashes tour. He is now England’s answer to Virender Sehwag and opening the batting in your World XI. The reverse sweep is such a natural shot for him. He plays it for fun. It’s no surprise to learn he was a good hockey player at school because it’s like a hockey shot,” Lloyd wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.
