The Indian T20 league has seen 14 editions. There have been several top-class teams that have had world-class players. However, only the best go on to win the title. Thus, this league has always seen the best take on the best. However, a few teams have managed to dominate the others and in the process, have established their own legacies. 1) Mumbai:

Despite blowing hot and cold in the first five editions, Mumbai have been the most dominant side since 2013. As a result, they have been the greatest team to have played in the league. The Mumbai-based franchise have won five titles.

No other team has won more trophies than them. Besides, they have a win percentage of 58.52%. The blue army have made it to the top-four on nine occasions.

2) Chennai:

Chennai are arguably the most consistent side in the history of the toughest 20. No team has made it to the top-four more than them. They have won four titles as well.

Besides, Chennai have the highest win percentage as well. They have a whopping win percentage of 60.56. Thus, if they win another title, they might as well topple Mumbai to be the most successful franchise in the league.

3) Kolkata:

From being a laughing stock to being an absolutely formidable side, Kolkata have come a long way. Post 2011, they have been a force to reckon with. It was in 2012 when they won their maiden title.

The franchise then won its second title in 2014. While they made it to the top-four five times, they reached the final thrice. The third instance being in 2021.

4) Hyderabad:

They made their debut in 2013 and since then have been one of the most consistent sides. Over the years, they have often been appreciated for their bowling. Speaking about their overall performance, not many teams can boast a record as good as theirs.

They won their maiden title in 2016 and reached the final during the 2018 edition. The orange army have a win percentage of 50.72. Thus, they will be hoping to win their second title this time around.

5) Rajasthan:

It was Rajasthan who won the inaugural edition of the Indian T20 league. They have a rich history, and they had a fairytale start to their journey in this league. However post that, they haven't had too much to show.

Nevertheless, they have a win percentage of 49.42. Often termed as the "Underdogs", the Rajasthan-based franchise have a cult following. Thus, they would want to win their second title in the upcoming edition.
