Fitness is an important part of cricket players' lives, given that they play three forms of the game - Test, ODI, and T20I. Earlier, players especially batters, didn't have to care much about their physique. Now, they need to maintain a strict diet to sustain for a longer period, with the game becoming professional and demanding. Also, players play T20 Leagues globally which demands supreme fitness.

The former Pakistan skipper was one of the greatest players in the 90s and mid 2000s. His mates and opponents have regarded him as one of the elegant batters who could see the ball with ease than the others. However, the only hindrance to his game was his weight. Not only did it impact him while running between the wickets but also made him a butt of jokes. He was mocked by people for his weight and got run-out numerous times in his playing days.

2. Arjuna Ranatunga

The former Sri Lanka skipper started as an athletic player but gained weight as his career moved along. There was one famous incident in the mid 90s when Australia's Ian Healy had a banter with Ranatunga for the latter's body weight. At the end of his career, he weighed over 90 kilos.

He was overweight during his playing days as he couldn't resist on the temptation of burgers, beers, etc. However, after retirement, he shed weight and looked in shape which is why it was tough for the fans to digest his death initially.

4. Rohit Sharma

The India skipper across formats has been in trouble with his injuries in the last couple of years. Predominantly, that is because of his extra weight. Reportedly, when Sharma was making his comeback in the game after injury early this year, he was asked to shed weight by the Indian Cricket Board.

5. Rishabh Pant

The India wicketkeeper batter has been in trouble due to body weight during keeping the wickets. He faces difficulty while standing up due to his extra weight. Rishabh Pant is a vital cog in the Indian Cricket Team across formats and, certainly, needs to shed some killos to enjoy a long career.
