With the rise in competition, the players will have to keep performing consistently to maintain their spots in the team. Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been in the form of his lifetime, and he might also find a place in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. However, after that, we may see Karthik hanging his boots or being dropped. Following that, the selectors would seek to implant youngsters, with comparable skill sets to Karthik, in the team.

The veteran cricketer's immediate objective is to secure a spot in the World T20 in 2022. That's why, after November 2022, we might see DK declare his international retirement. However, he would want to end his career on a high note by winning the World Cup.

Without a question, Virat Kohli's poor batting form has been a major source of concern for India. The veteran cricketer has struggled to perform effectively and win matches across all forms. Unfortunately, if Kohli's form continues to deteriorate, he may be forced to withdraw from T20Is.

Ultimately, the selectors have a plethora of choices for replacing Virat Kohli with other hitters. Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer are two of India's best alternatives to replace the 33-year-old. However, Indian supporters will undoubtedly want Virat Kohli to win the World T20 in 2022.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, like Virat Kohli, may retire from T20Is. Because the captain has a lot of workload, his vintage days may be more obvious in the longer formats. Constant injuries and fitness concerns may also potentially jeopardise the Indian captain's position in the team.

The selectors have also developed a variety of white-ball openers to fill Rohit's shoes after the ICC tournament. His perspective alternatives are Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad, among others. However, Indian supporters would like the skipper to win at least one ICC T20 championship during his tenure.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Veteran Cricketer Ravichandra Ashwin is no longer a regular member of the Indian team in the shortest format. The veteran participated in the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, but he is unsure whether he will be selected for the 2022 edition.

He might only be selected if India's other main spinners are absent for some reason during the tournamnet. After the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2022, India may only want to play him in the game's longest format.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

At the moment, Bhuvneshwar Kumar appears to be in good enough shape to play as many T20Is as possible. Certainly, the pacer has earned a spot in the World T20 team. The 32-year-old also appears to be in good enough shape to continue playing beyond the T20 World Cup in 2022.

However, the right-arm pacer is prone to injuries. If he encounters a few more injuries in the near future, his place on the team might be in danger. Many stand-in players might be ready to replace him in the team. Deepak Chahar will be his biggest competition.
