But still, there only five bowers out of a long list could have made this possible in the history of the 20-20 World Cup.

The then 50-over World Champions Australia were locking horns with the minnows Bangladesh in a group match of the inaugural edition of the 20-20 World Cup in 2007. The former legendary Aussie pacer Brett Lee happened to create history on that day.

Lee scalped three wickets on three consecutive deliveries to complete his hat-trick and achieve this feat of having the first-ever hat-trick in the history of the 20-20 World Cup. He claimed the wickets of Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Alok Kapali.

Curtis Campher (Ireland) vs Netherlands – 20-20 World Cup 2021 in UAE

Ireland was taking on the Netherlands in the group match of last year’s 20-20 World Cup held in the United Arab Emirates. Irish bowler Curtis Campher’s stars were shining very bright on that particular day. He completely dismantled the batting lineup of the Netherlands.

Campher ended up taking four wickets on four consecutive deliveries. It is the record that he still owns and he is also the only player to take four wickets off four successive balls during the match 20-20 World Cup. Campher took the wickets of Colin Ackermann and Ryan ten Doeschate. Scott Edwards, and Roelof van der Merwe to accomplish this feat.

Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka) vs South Africa – 20-20 World Cup 2021 in UAE

The 2014 20-20 World Cup champions Sri Lanka was locking horns with the South African in the super-12 match of the last year’s 20-20 World Cup in UAE. Young Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga amazed and stunned everyone with his stellar performance in a must-win super-12 match for Sri Lanka.

He ended up taking an amazing hat-trick by scalping consecutive wickets of senior batter Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, and all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius.

Kagiso Rabada (South Africa) vs England – 20-20 World Cup 2021

Premier South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has also a hat trick to his name in the 20-20 World Cup tournament. He achieved this milestone when South Africans were playing against England in a group match of the 20-20 World Cup last year.

Rabada scalped the wickets of English players including the likes of skipper Eoin Morgan, all-rounder Chris Woakes, and Chris Jordan on three consecutive balls.

The most recent name added to this list is UAE’s spinner Karthik Meiyappan who stunned everyone with his bowling in the Round 1 match against Sri Lanka in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. Meiyappan scalped a brilliant hat-trick by claiming the wickets of Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Charith Asalanka, and skipper Dasun Shanaka.

Although, UAE ended up losing the match by 73 runs against Sri Lanka. It was also the second defeat for UAE in the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
