‘Fir T20 se Test ka selection hoga’ - Fans react as Ajinkya Rahane reportedly to be back in contention for the 15-member squad for WTC final

Ajinkya Rahane is currently busy playing in the ongoing IPL for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Currently, he is out of contention in Team India for any format of the game. So, all eyes were on him when he got the opportunity against Mumbai Indians (MI). However, he did not disappoint as he notched up a fifty off just 19 balls. Rahane scored 61 runs off 27 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. Seeing that inning, fans went crazy.

On the other hand, India will play Australia in the WTC final in early June. For that, as per reports, head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip, and other support staff will be meeting the NCA team headed by VVS Laxman on 11 April 2023. Now, as per quoted by PTI, Ajinkya Rahane is most likely to be back in contention for the 15-member squad for the WTC final. Seeing that report, fans were not happy and they shared their views on social media.

After the match against Mumbai, Ajinkya Rahane came up for the post-match press conference and opened up on the selection for the World Test Championship final. Rahane said: “Still, a long way to go . Today, I was not sure about my place in the eleven, (and) got to know just before the toss. For me, it is about playing one game at a time and staying in the moment. Anything can happen. I will never give up. For me, it is about playing with enjoyment and passion".

However, fans were not happy as it was only one inning in IPL that Ajinkya Rahane played and amazed everyone. They even claimed that it will be unfair to select some batter for a Test match on the basis of his form in T20s. However, Chennai fans will hope for some more firecrackers this season from the Mumbai batter.
