On 29 May 2023, the final of the ongoing IPL happened between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The match took place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad after it got postponed on 28 May due to rain. CSK came to this clash after defeating GT in qualifier one at Chepauk. While GT defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in qualifier two at Narendra Modi Stadium to seal their berth in the final.

Speaking of the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first. For GT, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha came out to bat. Both of them gave a solid start as GT scored 67 runs for one wicket in seven overs. Gill departed for 39 runs off 20 balls, including seven fours as Ravindra Jadeja took the wicket.

Then, Sai Sudharsan came and lit up the stadium with his shots all around the park. First, he stitched a partnership of 64 runs off 42 balls with Saha. Saha scored 54 runs off 39 balls, including five fours and one six. Then, Sai continued his shots and put up a partnership of 81 runs off 33 balls for the third wicket with skipper Hardik Pandya. Finally, Sai scored 96 runs off 47 balls and Pandya scored 21* runs off 12 balls, including two sixes. Finally, they scored 214 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. For CSK, Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets while both Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar took one wicket each.

In reply, CSK came out to bat. But, their inning got paused after just the first three balls when they were at four runs for no loss due to rain. After that, they got a revised target of 170 runs in 15 overs. Ruturaj and Conway gave a blistering start as CSK reached 58 runs for no loss in five overs. Then, Noor Ahmad took two wickets in the same over and CSK were struggling. But, after some crucial contributions from CSK batters, they were at 150 runs for five wickets in 13 overs. In the last two balls, they needed 10 runs. Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four as CSK won their fifth title by defeating GT by five wickets.
