“Feels surreal when you get the call to play for your country. It’s like a dream come true. Excited to play my part and contribute to the success of the team. Thanks@BCCI. Can’t wait to get started, ” tweeted Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna came to the limelight after some decent performances for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He’s been associated with the franchise since 2018 and has picked up 18 wickets in 24 games. He made his case for a place in the Indian team after a scintillating show in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The pacer was the joint 5th highest wicket taker of the tournament with 14 wickets in 7 games.

Even though Krishna hasn’t played a lot of List A cricket, he's a terrific record in the limited opportunities he has got. The pacer has 81 wickets to his name in 41 games at an economy of 5.17. Earlier, the BCCI announced the squad for the 3 match ODI series against England. Along with Prasidh Krishna, Suryakumar Yadav also received his maiden India call up in ODIs. Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Siraj have also been drafted into the squad.

India’s ODI squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), KL Rahul (wicket-keeper), Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Md.
