A video of a fatal road accident went viral on Youtube which claimed that Pollard passed away in it. A lot of videos regarding the same were doing the rounds which led to many falling for the cricketer’s death hoax.

Interestingly, Kieron Pollard, when the fake news of his death went viral, was playing in the ongoing T10 League in Abu Dhabi. Rather he is the skipper of his team Deccan Gladiators and their second match was in progress then. Pollard had a good outing with the bat scoring 24 off 17 deliveries as the Gladiators managed to win their first match of the season.

As far as the game is concerned, the Gladiators, after opting to bowl first upon winning the toss, managed to restrict the Team Abu Dhabi for just 95 runs in 10 overs. Imtiaz Ahmed and Zahoor Khan were the best bowlers for the Gladiators picking two and three wickets respectively. In the chase, apart from Pollard’s 24, Cameron Delport scored 40 to lead the team to the victory. The Gladiators will next face the Qalandars on Sunday at the same venue.
