Here is how fans have slammed Riyan Parag for his continuous failure for RR in IPL despite the team have backed him heavily so far

On 16 April 2023, Gujarat Titans (GT) took on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing IPL. However, RR won the match by three wickets and Shimron Hetmyer won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock. But, despite the wining, fans were not happy with Riyan Parag.

His poor form with the bat continued in this game also as he scored just five runs off seven balls. After this innings, he has now scored 39 runs in four matches of the ongoing tournament. Parag has been a part of this team since the IPL 2019. RR bought him for INR 20 Lakhs. But, since then, he failed to deliver so far.

Riyan Parag had a great domestic season before coming to IPL 2023  

Still, RR showed a lot of faith in him by retaining him for this season. Riyan Parag also came to this edition of IPL after a great domestic season with the bat. But, he has failed to replicate that form for RR. Speaking of the match, GT batted first and scored 177 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, RR chased down the target with three wickets in hand in 19.2 overs. After the win, RR skipper, Sanju Samson looked happy and said that they were very happy to be on the winning side.

During the post-match presentation, Samson said: "When you play some quality opponents on a quality wicket in a quality stadium like this, you expect a great match. I'm very happy to be on the winning side. I think it was very important to rotate the bowlers. They were going hard at our spinners. After the timeout, they were playing some quality cricket shots and we needed to respect that but I'm very proud of our team for restricting them to a 170-odd score. With the start we had while batting, it was very important to know how good a wicket this was. With the quality of bowling they had in the Powerplay, we had to respect them. But we knew we could play some shots later on. We had a good matchup with Zampa on David Miller and almost got him but still it turned out well for us. I don't think he likes easy situations. We don't mind putting him in these situations."
