England’s last ODI assignment was also at home, where they beat West Indies 3-0. Under the captaincy of Harry Brook, they will aim to carry that momentum in front of their supporters.

The squad has several exciting names. Sonny Baker, who impressed everyone with his pace in the recent Men’s Hundred, is set to get attention. Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton also add depth to the side. For young spinner Rehan Ahmed, this series could be an important chance to prove himself.

South Africa come into the series full of confidence after defeating Australia 2-1 in their own backyard. With Temba Bavuma leading, the Proteas will look to continue their winning ways in England.

There are some young talents to watch in the visiting squad. Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Kwena Maphaka, and Dewald Brevis are all exciting prospects. Brevis, who had a strong tour of Australia, will be eager to continue his form. Matthew Breetzke and Ryan Rickelton also provide options with the bat. Playing against England in English conditions will be a valuable opportunity for them.

However, South Africa’s ODI record in England has been poor. Out of 29 matches, they have managed only nine wins. Bavuma and his team will now look to improve that record by aiming for a rare series win on English soil.
