England are set to host New Zealand for a two-match Test series that gets underway from June 2. England's last Test series was against India which they lost by a 3-1 margin. They won the first Test by 227 runs but were bamboozled by the Indian spinners in the next three. New Zealand, on the other hand, last played against Pakistan in December 2020 and comprehensively defeated the visitors in both games.
England will be without the services of Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes, who are recovering from injuries. Also, Ben Foakes was ruled out of the series after tearing his left hamstring. They have also given the IPL bound stars a break from this series. The visitors, however, will go in with a full strength squad.
Talking about their recent form, New Zealand have managed to win their last four matches while England have won just one of their last four games. A lot is at stake thus both teams will be keen to win the series.
