Alexandra Hartley

Post England’s humiliating defeat in the pink ball test against India, England male cricketers and their female counterparts were involved in an ugly Twitter spat. It all started with Alexandra Hartley taking a dig at England's men team by sending out a tweet that read “ Nice of England boys to get this test match finished just before England women play tonight”. The tweet didn’t go down well with English cricketer Rory Burns who hit back at Hartley by replying. “ "Very disappointing attitude considering all the boys do support the Women's game."

Ben Duckett was also not impressed with Hartle’s tweet and termed it an ‘average tweet’ while adding that no one from the England's men team would have done the same if the women lost. “Average tweet. Don’t think any of the men's team would have been clapping if the women lost,” his tweet read

Hartley is not the part of England women’s team that are playing a 3 match T20 series against the White Ferns in New Zealand. England were decimated by hosts, India as they stumbled to a 10 wicket loss within 2 days of the third test. The loss has crushed England’s hope of qualifying for the final of the World Test Championship. England skipper Joe Root, who claimed his career best 5/8 in India’s first inning termed the wicket as ‘very difficult’. He further add that it’s the ICC, not the player who’ll judge the pitch as fit or unfit for play.
