ENG vs IND: Weather Forecast for Day 5 of Leeds Test

All three results are still possible in the ongoing Leeds Test between England and India, as the match is evenly poised heading into day five. England need 350 runs, while India need 10 wickets to win the series opener.

However, rain may interrupt play on the final day. According to Accuweather.com, there is a 60% chance of rain around 9 to 10 am local time, which is when the game is set to begin. So, the first hour of play could be affected. Rain is also expected again around 2 pm local time. After that, no major rain breaks are expected.

Still, it is likely that enough play will happen for a clear result. If the rain does arrive, the overcast conditions might help the Indian bowlers, who could become more dangerous under such skies. Also, if weather permits, play can be extended by up to one hour to make up for lost time.

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett will begin the proceedings on Day five

On day four, India suffered an early blow as skipper Shubman Gill failed to make a big score. But KL Rahul and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant built a massive 195-run stand for the fourth wicket. Both batters scored centuries and Pant also became the only Indian wicketkeeper to score hundreds in both innings of a Test match.

India looked set to post a huge total, but once again suffered a sudden collapse. They lost their last six wickets for just 31 runs. A similar collapse had happened in the first innings as well, when they lost their last seven wickets for only 41 runs.

So, in both innings, just when it looked like India would post a massive total, England pulled the game back. Eventually, India were bowled out for 364 in 96 overs, setting a target of 371. For England, both Brydon Carse and Josh Tongue were star performers with the ball, bagging three wickets each.
