ENG vs IND: Weather Forecast for Day 3 of Lord’s Test

India will begin day three of the ongoing Lord’s Test with 145/3 on the board. KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are the overnight batters.

On day two, India first bowled out the home side for under 400 runs. England had started the day at 251/4, with Joe Root and captain Ben Stokes at the crease. Root went on to score a century, but their partnership ended after adding 88 runs for the fifth wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah broke the stand. First, he dismissed Stokes for 44, then removed Root for 104 off 199 balls. In the very next ball, he got Chris Woakes for a golden duck. Suddenly, England were in trouble at 281/7.

But wicketkeeper Jamie Smith continued his good form with the bat in the series. He added a crucial 84-run partnership with Brydon Carse for the eighth wicket. Smith scored 51 off 56, and Carse made 56 off 83. England were eventually bowled out for 387 in 112.3 overs.

For India, Bumrah starred with the ball and picked up a five-wicket haul. Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up two wickets each, while Ravindra Jadeja took one.

In reply, India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal cheaply. Jofra Archer's raw pace and accuracy troubled him. Archer looked sharp on his return to red-ball cricket.

However, KL Rahul and Karun Nair steadied the ship with a 61-run stand for the second wicket. But Nair was dismissed for 40 after getting a good start, once again failing to convert it into a big score.

Captain Shubman Gill also fell early, scoring just 16. But Rishabh Pant came out to bat despite the little finger injury he suffered on day one. He remained unbeaten along with Rahul at stumps. India trail by 242 runs with seven wickets in hand. On day three, they will look to play carefully in the first session.

Weather forecast on Day three

The weather is expected to be similar to the last two days. There is no rain forecast, and a full day of play is likely.

The temperature will hover around 31°C throughout the day. As the pitch wears on, batting could become easier. There’s no chance of thunderstorms, with just 1% cloud cover and only 2% chance of rain, according to AccuWeather.

Another exciting day of cricket awaits as both teams look to gain the upper hand by the end of day three.
